Today we were in Makasar, Ujung Padang. We took a walk
to Fort Rotterdam and picked up a guide who was a student
trying to improve his English. He needs a lot of work on
his
English but he was very helpful walking around since I
forgotmy walking stick and it was nice connecting with locals.
It was very hot and I was glad to have my sunbrella.
We took a pedicab back to the ship. Makasar appears
to be a large city but not nearly as large as Jakarta
and others.
